Today, U.S. Congresswoman Hillary Scholten (MI-03) and Senator Tina Smith (D-MN) introduced the Enabling Farmers to Benefit from Processing Nutrition Programs Act, legislation that would remove administrative hurdles that cause small and independent farmers and ranchers to miss out on the benefits from processing nutrition programs.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI –Today, Congresswoman Hillary Scholten convened an LGBTQ+ legislative roundtable at the Grand Rapids Pride Center. The event brought together an array of voices, including advocacy partners, faith leaders, health care sector representatives, academics, and community leaders. Senate Majority Leader Winnie Brinks, Representative Kristian Grant, Deputy City Manager Kate Berens participated in today’s event.

Today, Congresswoman Hillary Scholten (MI-03) announced that The Rapid (Interurban Transit Partnership) will receive a nearly $6.2M federal grant through the Federal Transit Administration’s (FTA). The funds from the FTA’s “Low-No program” will allow West Michigan’s largest transit agency to purchase 11 compressed natural gas (CNG) buses to revitalize their fleet while reducing operating costs and working towards their goal of becoming a Zero Emissions transportation option by 2035.
