Today, I voted no for H. J. Res. 24 and H. J. Res. 26. Both of these bills override legislation passed by the duly elected government of Washington, DC. When the Republicans took the majority in the House, they promised to lower prices for everyday Americans. But instead–they’re using valuable taxpayer dollars and Representative’s time to try and meddle in local governments.

She honored two members of her community: Romito Jones and Julius Muhammad, who both tragically lost their lives to gun violence.
