Rep. Scholten Welcomes Vice President Kamala Harris for Reproductive Rights Roundtable in Grand Rapids

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Rep. Hillary Scholten (MI-03) yesterday welcomed Vice President Kamala D. Harris to Grand Rapids for a reproductive rights roundtable with West Michigan stakeholders at Fountain Street Church.

During the conversation, Rep. Scholten and Vice President Harris spoke with West Michigan community leaders, healthcare providers, and other patients about the importance of protecting access to care in the wake of the Dobbs decision.

“As a person of deep faith and the first woman and mother to represent West Michigan in Congress, I know that we do not have to suspend our religious convictions to believe the government should not make our reproductive decisions for us. We trust women to do that for themselves,” said Rep. Scholten. “I was honored to welcome the Vice President to Grand Rapids today to hear stories from doctors, patients, and advocates working to keep the reproductive freedoms we secured in Michigan last year for good.”
