Rep. Scholten Secures Over $500K for Energy Infrastructure Projects in West Michigan
WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Representative Hillary Scholten (MI-03) announced two West Michigan projects will be receiving federal investments from the Department of Energy’s Office Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains. Grand Rapids Rapid-Line Inc. will receive $248,282 to install a solar photovoltaic system and implement compressed air measures. LightCorp in Grand Haven was awarded $262,600 to remove skylights and upgrade its roof insulation. Both investments will help Rapid–Line and LightCorp lower their energy bills, slash emissions, and improve operations.
“West Michigan is a manufacturing powerhouse, and these investments will help our region move towards a cleaner future,” said Scholten. “Green energy is the way of the future, and I’m so proud to have played a role in securing these investments. Now, LightCorp and Rapid-Line will join other small and medium-sized manufacturers across the country in saving energy, reducing carbon pollution, lowering costs, and strengthening our domestic manufacturing sector. I’m thrilled to see the Investing in America agenda continue benefiting West Michigan, and I look forward to bringing even more of our tax dollars back home.”
