Rep. Scholten Hosts End of Year Telephone Town Hall with More Than 5,200 West Michiganders

December 21, 2023

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Last night, Rep. Hillary Scholten (MI-03) hosted a telephone town hall following the release of her inaugural end of year report. During the town hall, more than 5,200 West Michiganders tuned in to hear Rep. Scholten and her team’s legislative and casework achievements and receive an update on the pending immigration deal in the Senate and the ongoing Israel/Hamas war.

“I couldn’t be more honored that West Michiganders trusted me to bring their voices to Congress. I’m so proud of everything my team and I have accomplished this year – from returning more than $7 million to West Michigan families from federal agencies to securing more than $12.3 million in investments to our community to introducing eight bipartisan bills – and we’re just getting started,” said Rep. Scholten. “I want to thank everyone who tuned in to hear our updates and ask incredibly important questions. I look forward to hosting many more town halls over the phone and in person in the coming year.”

During her first year in Congress, Rep. Scholten has hosted three in-person town halls – one in each county in Michigan’s Third District – and two telephone town halls, reaching more than 9,700 constituents through this direct engagement.
