Congresswoman Scholten Completes First 100 Days in Office, Rolls Out Game-Changing Returns for Constituents

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Congresswoman Hillary Scholten has had an immensely productive first 100 days in office, serving her constituents and making a positive impact for West Michigan in Congress.
Since being sworn into office, Congresswoman Scholten has returned over $4,000,000 to her constituents through engaged, high-quality, and effective constituent services. She has been active in communities across West Michigan, having completed nearly 300 visits and meetings that included media interviews, meetings with businesses, and community gatherings. Her office has opened over 550 cases and already resolved over 300 of them, responding to the critical needs and concerns of West Michiganders.
“It is a top priority of mine not only to do right by West Michigan in Washington, but to serve working families right here in the district,” said Congresswoman Scholten. “Our office has already returned millions of dollars to the district, serving thousands of people just in our first 100 days in office, and we’re just getting started.”
In her first 100 days, Congresswoman Scholten has sent out nearly 10,000 pieces of mail, responding to West Michiganders across Michigan's Third Congressional District. She has shown her willingness to work across the aisle—over half of the 51 bills she has agreed to cosponsor are bipartisan. She has also introduced two bipartisan bills and will soon introduce a third, all with Republican co-leads, to address important issues facing the American people. She has shown a willingness to work across party lines, not just through the legislation she supports, but by joining a colleague from across the aisle on 96 of her floor votes—60% of recorded votes taken.
“Every day in Congress, I lead the middle of the country from the middle of the aisle. I’m focused on building bridges in Congress, working with Republicans and Democrats to get things done for West Michiganders,” said Congresswoman Hillary Scholten. “Bipartisanship isn’t just a buzzword for me–it defines my leadership in Congress.”
With her strong record of service and commitment to working across the aisle, Rep. Scholten is well-positioned to make a positive impact in Congress and to continue serving her constituents with dedication and integrity.
