Rep. Scholten Statement on Election of Speaker Mike Johnson

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Hillary Scholten (MI-03) issued the below statement after House Republicans elected Rep. Mike Johnson to Speaker of the House:

“While I remain deeply concerned about the Speaker’s record, especially his connections to the efforts to overturn the 2020 election, I am committed to working across the aisle to get things done for West Michigan. I hope the Speaker rises to the occasion and stays true to his promise of bipartisanship that he expressed during his speech this afternoon. Now, let’s get back to work.”
