WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Hillary Scholten (MI-03) celebrated the end of her first year in Congress by releasing her inaugural end of year report and announcing over $20M in grants and federal dollars returning to the community. The report details Rep. Scholten and her team’s legislative and casework accomplishments, as well as her efforts to advocate for West Michigan in Washington, D.C.

“Despite the chaos of Congress, I’ve stayed committed to my promise to West Michiganders – to provide steady, pragmatic leadership and work across the aisle to get things done for our community,” said Rep. Scholten. “That’s exactly what I’ve done over this last year – from introducing several bipartisan bills to hosting town halls in every county to returning millions of dollars to West Michigan families from federal agencies – and I’m just getting started. I’m so excited to release this inaugural report to share our incredible work with West Michiganders.” 

TOP HIGHLIGHTS:

  • More than $7.6 million returned to West Michigan families, veterans, and seniors from federal agencies.
  • Over $12.3 million grant dollars secured to invest in West Michigan.
  • More than 33,000 letters back to constituents – one of the fastest response rates in Congress.
  • Held an in-person town hall in each county and a telephone town hall with more than 4,500 participants.
  • Over 700 total votes cast on the House Floor. 
  • 70% of Rep. Scholten’s votes were bipartisan.
  • Introduced 8 bipartisan bills.
