Rep. Scholten Announces $5.6 Million for Two West Michigan Health Centers

February 9, 2026

WASHINGTON, DC — Today, U.S. Representative Hillary Scholten (D-MI-03) announced Cherry Street Services’ Heart of the City Health Center in Grand Rapids will receive $4,606,558 and Muskegon Family Care in Muskegon Heights will receive $995,228 in federal support. The awards are through the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Health Center Program, which helps community-based organizations deliver comprehensive, affordable primary health care in underserved areas.

“Cherry Street Services’ Heart of the City Health Center and Muskegon Family Care provide critical primary care services to their communities, and I’m pleased to announce this well-deserved funding,” said Rep. Scholten. “Every West Michigander deserves access to quality, dependable health care, and these investments will help the health centers care for their neighbors at costs they can afford. I will continue working every day in Congress to strengthen our health care infrastructure and bring high-impact federal investments to our region.”

This funding reflects Rep. Scholten’s ongoing work to bring federal investment back to Michigan’s Third Congressional District and strengthen the region’s health care infrastructure.
