Congresswoman Scholten Calls for Safer Communities and Bipartisanship in her First Address to Congress

WASHINGTON, DC—Congresswoman Hillary Scholten delivered her first remarks on the House Floor this evening, including her priorities and hopes for her first term in the United States Congress. She honored two members of her community: Romito Jones and Julius Muhammad, who both tragically lost their lives to gun violence.

“We must come together to enact common sense reforms to keep our neighborhoods safe, support our law enforcement, [and] support fair and equitable enforcement of the law. I’m ready to get to work, and I invite all of my colleagues to join me.”
