Scholten Celebrates $250K Grant for Rapid-Line Inc. in Grand Rapids

December 16, 2024

The U.S. Department of Energy grant will fund the transition to a new energy-efficient tube laser.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Rapid-Line Inc. – located in the heart of Congresswoman Hillary Scholten’s (MI-03) district – has received a $254,236 grant from the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Manufacturing and Energy Supply Chains. The funding comes from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law as part of the Democrats’ Investing in America agenda.

“It’s easy to talk the talk about energy efficiency, but small and medium-sized manufacturers know investing in upgrades can be costly,” said Scholten. “Our manufacturers need support to make the switch so they can walk the walk. With this grant, Rapid-Line will be able to make improvements to save energy, reduce carbon pollution, and lower costs. I’m thrilled this money is coming to MI-03 – adding to the over $213M my office has helped to bring back to my district  – and to strengthen our economy."
